The High Court today stayed the investigation into the case registered against Vidya Balan, heroine of the ‘The Dirty Picture’ and Ekta Kapoor, producer of the movie till further orders.
The court directed the Nallakunta police of Hyderabad not to proceed in the case till the petition filed by Vidya Balan and Ekta Kapoor is finally disposed.
Earlier, Vidya Balan and Ekta Kapoor together filed a petition in the Court seeking to revoke the criminal complaint lodged against them by advocate Sai Krishna Azad in the Nallakunta Police station.
Mr Azad filed the complaint on December 17 and the Nallakunta police registered an FIR against the actress and the producer. Sources said that Vidya Balan and her producer filed the petition on a day when the police had decided to send notices to them to seek their explanation on the complaint.
The advocate in his complaint said that Vidya Balan had posed obscene for her film ‘The Dirty Picture’ and the dirty posters were pasted in the Nallakunta area causing severe embarrassment to the women of the area.
“Vidya Balan promoted sleaze and embarrassed the women in Nallakunata area through her posters. She spoiled the minds of young people and caused harm to the society,” said the lawyer in his complaint. (JUBS)
