Paper Presentation on ANDROID TECHNOLOGY

ABSTRACT
The unveiling of the Android platform on was announced with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 48 hardware, software, and telecom companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. Google has made most of the Android platform available under the Apache free-software and open source license.

Android is a freely downloadable open source software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications based on Linux and Java.
Google developed Android collaboratively as part of the Open Handset Alliance, a group of more than 30 mobile and technology companies working to open up the mobile handset environment. Android's development kit supports many of the standard packages used by Jetty, and so, due to that fact and Jetty's modularity and lightweight footprint, it was possible to port Jetty to it so that it will be able to run on the Android platform.

This paper on Android deals with the history of the Android, the early prototypes, basic building blocks of an android application and the features of the android.

With the advent of so many new gadgets every season it’s a tough call for an inexperienced customer to decide what he wants. Starting from smartphones, slate tablets, netbooks, kindle, laptops or high end gaming devices there are plenty of gadgets available depending on your needs
I own an iPhone since quite long, but with Apple announcing iPad and recent explosion of multi-touch slate tablets, I did some research on feasibility of these gadgets. Whether I really need a tablet or will a small netbook or a laptop will solve my purpose ?
Following is the table that we came up with for novice people who can see their purpose of buying a new gadget and assign a score (1-3) for each of the purpose.

Purpose
Tablet(Slate) score
Laptop/Netbook score
Listen to Music
3
2
Travelling
3

Browsing

Portability

Watching movies

Using this table is quite simple, just see the purpose you want to use your gadget and keep adding the score for tablet slate and laptop. For example, if your main purpose of getting a new gadget is to listen to music, browsing, watching movies and portability, then you may decide on a good tablet instead of getting a laptop.
However the table is for novice people, they should carefully review the list and also plan for how much time are they going to use their new device as with age technology gets better and cheaper.
Good Luck! in buying your New Technology Toy…!! image of Laptops Vs Tablets: What to Buy? computer photo
